Committee Descriptions

2010-2011

 

 

Administrative and IT Support Committee

·         Assist the office with copying or other needed tasks (shopping for office supplies as needed)

·         Study hall supervision (reminder calls and assuring coverage)

·         Assist the Principal and Assistant Principal with various needs

·         Fill in for secretary when she needs off

·         IT - Maintain operation of staff computers and computer classroom

·         IT - Research options for updating software and hardware as needed

 

Alumni and Scholarship Committee

·         Organize a big once a year fundraiser specifically for scholarship program

·         Going outside of RSHS families to solicit funds

·         Contact alumni for financial support/donations, and invite alumni to graduations or other special activities as appropriate.

·         Administrative Support started contacting people to form database would like see that focus shifted to this committee


Curriculum and Course Review Committee

·         Update and revise Goals and Objectives due to change in curriculum, course, etc.

·         Evaluate curriculum to update content, new versions of books/programs, etc.

·         Review courses to evaluate the course content relating to goals and objectives of curriculum

·         Parent will contact the specified teacher to review/revise goals and objectives annually.

·         Parent will be responsible for re-typing updated information and forwarding this to staffing committee.

·         Extra curriculum materials will be approved by a sub committee as needed by individual teachers.

 

Enrollment Committee

·         Establish enrollment dates

·         Update and distribute handbook after any board changes

·         Distribute/collect enrollment materials- (application, references, immunization card, etc.) to appropriate board members who then schedule interviews.

·         Organize and schedule placement tests

·         Report ethnic-profile of students to RSHS President by October 1st

 

Facilities Committee

·         Manage facilities contact

·         Meet and walk through office site/classrooms once a semester

·         Checklist and inventory equipment ( ie: overhead projectors, tables, etc.)

·         Chairman will develop and implement contact protocol for Administrative Staff to utilize

·         Buy furniture and equipment

·         Organize and manage facility upkeep, renewal, and/or new tenant finish

·         Obtain required permits

·         Organize/supervise student/parent workdays once per semester

 

Fundraising Committee

·         Plan, coordinate, organize, and conduct fundraisers (individual and schoolwide) and help track/record money raised by each student.

·         Bolster all school fundraising not just individual.  ( ie: scrips program, more hot lunches)

 

Grants and Donations

·         Seek and investigate grant and donation opportunities

·         Offer and write proposals

·         Solicit donations to benefit RSHS

 

Public Relations/Marketing

 

·         Work with office staff and board to develop marketing strategies to forward the mission of RSHS

 

Materials Management Committee

 

·         Inventory all textbooks and supplements

·         Catalog all new textbooks and supplements

·         Check out books at beginning of the school year and at quarter of semester course changes

·         Check in books at the end of the year, assessing damages and fining students for those damages

·         Physically attend book check out and check in.

·         Check other books in and out of library

·         Mend and restore damaged textbooks

·         Assist in ordering

 

Special Projects Committee

·         Coordinate and oversee the Back to School Picnic

·         Coordinate and oversee faculty appreciation projects/functions

·         Coordinate and oversee any RSHS parent and/or student meetings

·         Coordinate and oversee the End of the Year Party/Yearbook signing

·         Coordinate and oversee any other special events (teacher luncheon)

 

Staffing Committee

·         Solicit candidates for open positions

·         Have parents sit in during various classes to evaluate teacher's ability to meet goals and objectives once per semester.

·         Establish resume files, including candidates for future and/or contingency needs

·         Conduct first-level interviews in association with principal.

·         Principal will extend offer and establish signed contracts


Student Awareness Committee

·         Research and provide college scholarship information

·         Provide college-entrance exam information

·         Provide standardize testing-communicate time, location, and cost by December 1st

·         Work with principal to coordinate and oversee Back to School Night and

      New Student Orientation

 

 Student Enrichment Committee

·         Plan all aspects of enrichment trip for each grade

·         Communicate trip, schedule, needs, and associated costs to RSHS Board, parents and students

·         Supervise enrichment trip for each grade

·         Plan all aspects of slide show for End of the Year Party according to RSHS guidelines

·         Preview all classes Power Points before Yearbook signing presentation.


Transfer and Elective Credit Committee of one -Cecilia 

·         Evaluate all requests for Transfer credits

·         Evaluate all requests for Elective Credits

           

Yearbook Committee

·        Coordinate and oversee the yearbook and parent pages
